Undecided about video card. Need advice.

Thread Starter
So basically im making a new gaming build, and i have extra cash to upgrade a component. The componenet i have in mind is the GPU.
My list of components is

Chaser MK1
Asrock Extreme 4 z77
Intel i5-3570k
Ripjaws Z 4x2gb 1600 mhz
Kingstone Hyperx 90 gb SSD
Rosewill Fortress series 750w
7200 RPM 1tb HDD
Video Card gtx 670 Upgrade consider is the 680 (4gb model is something i want based on reviews because for now its good but im 15 it was hard to get this money so i want it too last

My problem is that i have headroom to upgrade but theres issues
A. In the future i do plan on using SLI im finding hard to find the 4gb ASUS TOP cards already so should i get 2gb model and/or different company.
B. If i plan to watercool in the future should I just go with reference model?
C. Should i just go with a gtx 670 and upgrade something else or buy a new peripheral (right now im using very basic peripherals so maybe id be bottlenecking everything with a bad monitor. This is my first build ever so im a little bit uneducated even though ive done a lot of research.

Thanks for all the help in advance smile.gif

I'd recommend the 670. I run the FTW edition and I have no qualms, except for Crysis 3.

Have you already purchased the 670? It looks like you wont bottleneck yourself with any of those components no matter what you do. I'm unfamiliar with PSU usage in reference to SLI setups so hopefully someone can fill u in there. IF you have already bought the 670 then you're better of going SLI with another 670. I'm new to this stuff so this is just an educated guess

BTW i will be playing games and recording them. id be playing games such as arma@ dayz mod borderlands 2, black ops 2, battle field 3 and 4 when its released

A. GTX 680 or 670 sli can't push 4GB of vram.

B. Yes go reference for better options.

C. Just get another 670.

Ohhh lol OK if you haven't bought anything yet, why don't you try to upgrade a few of your components until you get closer to the amount you have to spend. If you waste all of your money on a solid build you wont have to worry about upgrading any time soon smile.gif. How much money do you have spare after your build and which country do you live in? (for money conversion tongue.gif)

Titan or ****.

EDIT: apparently g t f o is too explicit......

But in reality I would say 7950/7970 is the best bang for your buck. AMDs price for performance has been kicking Nvidias butt as of late.
