Where did you guys come from? Did you forget the last 5-10 years of GPUs or just get interested in computer hardware this year? Don't tell people to educate themselves when you are the one that needs to be educated. You can't compare price/performance of the newest single GPU card to a SLI/CF config of the previous generation. The SLI/CF will always win in price/performance! People buy Titan because it's the best single GPU card on the market, NOT for price/performance ratio.

I'm so baffled by OCN's community as of late. 9 years on these forums and every year we get more and more people that seem like they've not been interest in computers for more than a year or two. Now we have these people telling us to educate ourselfs? headscratch.gif

If I could rep you, I would. If I could rep you 5 times on that post, I would. It's like this stuff happens and everyone has the memory of a goldfish.

But 1st i would love to hear the community thoughts on this and what would be best over all. Also i have been reading up on the titan, i was wondering if it only better if you sli them together would beat the 690 but if you had only one then the 690 would be the better choice. And i would like to know which is better over all for 1 card in the system instead or sliing them.

SLI 680's 2gb are cheaper and more powerful than a 690 and Titian but if you decide to go that route you are likely to run into common SLI issues. As for the 690 you'll be getting more fps than with a Titan but at the cost of running into common SLI issues. The Titan is a solid performer but comes with a hefty new novelty price.

SLI 680's or a 690 seems like the obvious choice to me but a Titan is more future proof (6gb's vram if you get a higher res monitor and Titan will scale much better if you decide to go SLI down the road). I don't know how much performance Nvidia will be able to squeeze out of a Titan driver wise, but it is a new card and more performance can be expected from it, the question is how much more?

If you want the most performance possible right now and don't mind the possibility of issues that come with SLI than get two 680's (I'm only listing 680's since you didn't mention anything about 7970ghz CF). If you want a single card setup with the most performance right now and don't mind the possibility of issues with SLI than get a 690. If you want the most performance possible without SLI issues and don't mind a hefty high price than get a Titan.
