I have that monitor, but the 23" version... I got mine for well over 400$+ when it was still "new", will i buy a 1000$ TITAN? ermmmmmm.... NO my 400$ dual 660's works splendid on it and due to the benches i have seen, it is just as fast as a single TITAN tongue.gif.... want to know what benches i am talking about? Scroll up to my previous post biggrin.gif..... Truth be told, if you are not an E-Peen lover, own a 4k display, or running 3 1600p/1440 monitors, the TITAN is not for you. For 1080p and the current games out there, there are bunch of BETTER solutions you can get for less...

You can get 660 SLI, 660 TI SLI, 670 SLI, 690 then 680 SLI .... The first one will be just as fast as a titan, and the performance only increases as you keep going upwards biggrin.gif.

I see that you play some MMO games. Those often have poor or mediocre SLI scaling so Titan would be a better option for them.

Dude- I am not the one arguing in favor of a Titan, in fact quite the opposite, given op' s requirements. I agree with your conclusion, even for MMO thumb.gif

Now, I had never said you should not but a Titan for a $200/$300 monitor AND if you had read carefully, you would notice that I had never said it was not justifiable to do so.

Would I buy a Titan for a $200/$300 1080P monitor? If I had at (3) $140 1080P monitors thumbsupsmiley.pngBUT that's me.
That's how much my 1080p monitors cost a piece upsidedwnsmiley.gif

It's your choice anyway thumb.gif

to justify how much is spent buying a graphics card by how much is spent on the monitor(s) is just silly. but if someone wants to use that to feel better about their purchase then so be it. but to state, "you're not like me so you shouldn't get one" is strictly patronizing. its a piece of hardware, not a socio-economic status symbol.

there are two rules of thumb with graphics:
1. spend twice as much than your cpu - (another component and not a peripheral i may add)
2. look at first to buy the best single card solution you can afford.

maybe find an HDMI port on this?

surely that would "justify" buying a titan!

I don't think they make a video card that is twice as expensive as my CPU. tongue.gif
