Best card gtx 690 or the gtx titan on 1920*1080 - Page 24

Malmental ... be carfull posting those results.. they r very misleading. Those figures are average FPS results and include no minimums, they also use TXAA which is the worst AA out ..its crap and uses very little GPU power as a result.

They do include MSAA results in the report and the FPS is substantially lower. 1920x1200 with 8x MSAA on veryhigh with a GTX titan only averages around 42, u can bet the minimum FPS is somthing like 20. In all honesty for any1 considering playing C3 at 'proper' max settings at standard HD resolutions (1080p and 1200p), u need 2x GT Titans for a chance for a solid 60fps.

$1000/£850 for an average of 42FPS in C3 ...hmm ..no thanks frown.gif

Ofcourse ..this is crysis ..so u gotta expect it to melt PC's lol

People are too focused on purely FPS when debating cards. There are sli alternatives to the titan that offer higher fps and are slightly cheaper but the titan will always have better minimum fps, better frame times, no micro stutter, and a more consistently smooth gaming experience than any sli setup. That's why its priced so high, because its by far the best performing single gpu with none of the sli drawbacks. Not to mention the 6gb of ram. The titan should not be compared to the 690, they are not even in the same league. Who in their right mind would pay $1000 for a video card that is bottlenecked by 2gb vram? People who say the titan is overpriced need to give their head a shake.

To the OP if you are going to spend a grand don't waste it on any 2gb cards. Go two 670/680 4gb or one titan. And please for the love of god do not crossfire two AMD cards, cfx is completely broken.

Edit: I realize my previous statement may have left some AMD fanboys uneasy so here is the revised version: cfx is completely broken lots of the time (not always) and AMD takes months to fix with updated drivers, sometimes they just ignore the problems and never fix. Hopefully that statement will keep the AMD fanboys at bay.

btw it has nothing to do with fanboys. Saying CFX is broken is a foolish statement. I came from an SLI setup to a crossfire setup. They both have their quirks but neither of them is "broken"
