Trouble in Choosing a Laptop *HELP*

I am getting a laptop in a couple days, and i am stuck on which one i am wanting to get. My choices are:

HP - Pavilion 17.3" Laptop - 4GB Memory - 640GB Hard Drive - Sparkling Black

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pavilion+17.3%26%2334%3B+Laptop+-+4GB+Memory+-+640GB+Hard+Drive+-+Sparkling+Black/7337048.p?id=1218840175098&skuId=7337048

Asus - K-Series 15.6" Laptop - 4GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive - Light Covellite

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+K-Series+15.6%26%2334%3B+Laptop+-+4GB+Memory+-+500GB+Hard+Drive+-+Light+Covellite/7133053.p?id=1218831023584&skuId=7133053

The HP has an AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M Accelerated Processor, and the Asus has a 3rd Gen Intel® Core™ i5-3210M processor. The HP is a little cheaper than the Asus, but the HP has a bigger screen, a better webcam, better graphics, and more memory. What i am stuck on is which processor is better. I will be using the laptop for things such as, video editing, photoshop, and i will be having alot of tabs up at the same time. I will NOT be using it for gaming. They both have Windows 8. I think that the HP will be better for the things that i want to do, but i am just not too sure.

Can someone please explain to me which one will be better for the things i want to do, and as soon as possible, because i'm going to get it in a couple days.

Thanks,
Strats

I would go with the Asus. I have not has experience with the A8 CPU, however, i am quite sure the i5 will be far better. (my dad owns an i5 Toshiba laptop and he loves it) For what you want to do, I would go with the Asus.

Thanks for that reply, anyone else?

The i5 will be faster, but the APU has a greater range of capabilities. I.E. He could actually mess around on a game or two with the APU. Depends on what he'll need it for.

If the video editing and photoshop software you use support GPU computing, the APU would be a superior choice.

In the demo, the APU had lower Photoshop rendering time than the i3 (I'm assuming it's an i3 desktop and not a mobile one), despite having weaker CPU performance.
