Yea I didn't get that either. Why bother with a 4GB GTX 680 then?

Thread Starter
So from what I can see, the GPU and PSU needs to be changed. What do you guys recommend?

For the GPU, If I don't like it or if it's not performing. There's the Step Up program and upgrade to the Titan from EVGA.

Mobo: Asus Maximus V Extreme $360
CPU: Intel 3770K $300
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i $109
GPU: EVGA GTX 680 4gb w/back plate $529
DRAM: Corsair Dominator 1600 mhz $100
Drive: Intel SSD 240gb $240
PSU: Corsair AX1200i $329

GPU wise go with 1 or 2 7970..
I don't really know how much 2 7970's pull but I asume that a PSU around 750W should be fine. Do go with a high end brand! The last thing you want is your PSU failing and burning your components. biggrin.gif

OCZ, NZXT, Corsair, Antec to name a few

GPU is solid, as is the PSU. Ditch the 3 (not sure what you meant by you have them "ready") and game on a 27" 1440p bad boy and love it. thumb.gif

SSDs primarily excel in random read/writes and access time. The best HDD wouldn't come close to a anything worth regarding as an SSD.

First gen SSDs struggled to hit that speed but modern SSDs don't have that problem whatsoever. I'd really recommend reading through some of AnandTech's reviews of SSDs.

I'll save you some time and give you a free one:

How do you feel about purchasing second-hand off forums such as OCN, TPU!, [H]?

If you were to get an EVGA GTX 670/GTX 680 you could save a great deal of money and you can get the warranty transferred if the original buyer registered. This could easily save you a great deal of money.

Not really, It is true that some games scale better in crossfire then others but overall you still get the best price performance.
