Sorry OP for the slight thread hijack but your build is fine. personally I'd go for faster RAM but as a previous poster said if you want those ones it's your choice.

Two Cables truly is a great guy, after all the EXCELLENT help he has personally given me I think we would all be better of trying to be more like him. He's a great example.

Hello WiLd FyeR,

If you still haven't opened the SSD (I haven't seen you post since page 5 so you could already be building for all I know) I would recommend returning it and getting either the Crucial M4 or the Samsung 840 pro instead. Both SSD's are available in 128gb and 256gb capacities. I would also recommend picking up a 1tb Hard drive for storage as the 240gb will disappear quite fast. (I am talking from personal experience)

Other than that I can't really see a problem other than some nitpicking which is more of a preference than a problem.

Hey, wassup guys. Sorry I was out doing errands. So back to my build. SSD came from my laptop so no can do replacing. I still haven't opened the other components so still debating what should be changed. I was thinking of exchanging the GPU to a gtx 670 instead. What you guys think?

For the thermal paste, should I use the Corairs H100i paste or replace it with something better?

Just skimmed through this thread, but if your original intentions are still true, then I'd personally stick with the 4gb 680. Also, don't open and just return the 1200W PSU. If and when you do go tri/quad sli then get a 1200W, but until then you're just going overkill and wasting money on the PSU and on your electricity bill every month biggrin.gif. a 650W PSU is more than enough for a single 680, overclocks, and all kinds of knick knacks added on the side. Oh and if you're getting the Dominator Platinum ram, yeah it's nice (was actually wanting to buy some myself but didn't end up doing so) but it really is stupid expensive for ram and for no reason really. Unless money isn't an issue there is cheaper options for the same ram. Also, iirc, the twin tower type air coolers perform better than any enclosed loops like the H100i. So if you're going for performance over looks I guess, then coolers like the Silver Arrow, NHD14 or Phanteks PH-TC14PE would be your best bet. Not 100% sure on that though as I haven;t kept up on air cooling lately.

Okay, so keep the GPU and change the PSU. What brand you prefer for a PSU?

For the DRAM, I'm just going to keep it. Too much of a hassle shipping it back to NewEgg.

Just to make it clear, the only things that can be easily returned is the PSU, CPU cooler and GPU.

For the CPU cooler, I prefer water cooling.

I was also thinking if the GTX 680 doesn't go well in the next 3 months, I can do the Step Up program and just get the Titan. Then do an SLI titan.

Yeah if they charge fees for it then it's probably not worth it, understandable. But as for the PSU my first choice would would be SeaSonic. Corsair, Silverstone, Enermax, NZXT, and pretty much most brands make good stuff. In the past month though this baby has gone on sale for $90 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151121) twice, but it seems like the new deal is currently (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151087), basically trades 100w more for a little less efficiency if you're ok with that. But for $90 after a $15 MIR, both are AWESOME deals and can't be beat really.

How about CPU cooler recommendations? Checking out the Swiftech videos. For the Swiftech h220 coming soon, I wonder if the corsair SP120 fans will fit. The fan blades don't look good on the swiftech h220.

Okay the build will be on hold for now until I get the PSU and CPU cooling items situated. I really liked on what I saw from Swiftech's H220, will probably be waiting for it and returning the Corsair H100i.

Used to live in San Jose, well not in San Jose. Sunnyvale.

Yay OPs still here wheee.giftongue.gif

Do you really want an all in one water cooler? There are air coolers that damn near match their performance, like the Megahalem or the Noctura D14, although they are bloody huge redface.gif
