To buy or to wait some more

Thread Starter
Greetings.

So i got £1000 to spend on adding/upgrading myrig in my sig.
Im going to be building, around the same time of this upgrade, a rig for my fathers 50th so i am going to:

Buy the NZXT 820 White, and my father is getting my current Thermaltake case.(My curent case = £120, NZXT case = £200 , so im actualy spending on myself £80)
Buy a Madcatz RAT 7MMO + Glide9 Mouse Mat (about £80 + £30)
Thats £190 used.

So for roughly £800 what GPU upgrade do u all recommend. Baring in mind im getting my hands on Crysis 3 devilsmiley.gif

I dont mind waiting on the 700 series, but since Titan is out on the 28th it will likely mean a longer wait than i expected for the 700 series. I wanna be able to run Crysis 3 at max setting (including AA) at 1080p, and from inital reports the GTX Titan is a little disapointing in that sense, specialy for its price. I was planing on getting 2 of Nvidia top single core cards for between £700-£850, .. Titan has kinda ruined that idea with its rediculus price tag.

Idea's / recommendation ?

If you're stuck on nvidia, i'd just wait. If not, and the money is going to burn a hole in your pocket, i'd crossfire 2 7970's and call it a day. biggrin.gif I'm waiting for 700 series. rolleyes.gif

EDIT: Crossfire 7900 and get 6 games free : http://sites.amd.com/us/promo/never-settle/Pages/nsreloaded.aspx#3

Go for a Mionix 5000 or 8200 instead of the Mad Catz Rat 7 mouse. The Mionix is by far a higher quality mouse and its ergonomics put the Rat 7 to shame.

Im not stuck on Nvidia..its just as it stand they seem the better choice as they have done in the past and from a pure performance standpoint. I know the 7970 can beat the 680 in many games BUT the 680 has smoother FPS..and PhysX ..and arguably better drivers. So im not necceerilly stuck on Nvidia ..i mean i often advise others to get AMD, but thats usualy bassed on price:performance..which although i have my own budgets ..im not to worried abouti I got a 3930k lol ..not exactly the most cost effective choice tongue.gif

Those Mionix mice dont got enough buttons.

I like the RAT 7 MMO becouse it has buttons usfull for FPS games .like the sniper button. And enough extra buttons for MMO's which i also play.
It also the size adjustments and pinky rest, and its wired which i prefer over wireless.

Why not just get a titan then? biggrin.gif It should fit in your budget. Your budget allows for 1 titan, 1 690, 1 7990, sli 680, or crossfire 7970. Whichever route you go, you're going to get a huge jump in performance over the 560ti. I'd just go for the titan if i had that kind of cash to spend right now. tongue.gif
