Oc that 8350 if you have the cooler to handle it.

Don't sweat it man. The main things that Intel is better in is per-core performance and efficiency. Vishera isn't a bad architecture. It just isn't getting as much love as it should in multi-threaded applications (not that many out there). With the multitude of single threaded applications out there, of course it's going to put AMD's processors in a bad light because that's not what BD/PD's architecture is suited towards. Personally, I think that AMD is going to get the upper hand next year. With next-gen consoles using the x86 architecture and 8 core AMD chips (well, at least the PS4, don't know about the nextbox), AMD's desktop processors should scale very well with it's extra cores. I don't know if you've seen the Crysis 3 beta benches, but it's performing very well in that game, up with the 2600K, and it's actually utilizing all of the cores. So, for games/applications that support it's architecture, it's an awesome chip.

So, forget about your "friends." There's no reason whatsoever to rub it in like they are. We all know that Intel has some great performing chips, but for the price, the 8350 is still a viable contender, especially with the prices of their motherboards. Like you, I'm tired of people putting down AMD. It's almost as if it's like they have some sort of superiority complex, and it gets their epeens hard knowing that they have something "better" than someone else. I'm also thinking that some people view AMD owners as less intelligent because they decided to purchase something different. The 8350 isn't worse than the 3570k, it's just different. They both excel in what they're made for (AMD= Multi-threaded, Intel= efficiency and per-core). 8350 vs. i7 really isn't a fair comparison because they're in different price ranges, so I would expect the 3770K to perform better than the 8350 if it costs ~$100 more. Even then, the 8350 gives it a good run for it's money. As far as 3570K vs 8350, the AMD chip is still great. 3570K=Single threaded performance. 8350= Multi threaded performance. It's as simple as that. One isn't better than the other, they're just aimed towards different applications.

I say all of this as an Intel owner. So, stay with your chip. overclock the hell out of it, and be happy with your purchase. It's up to people like you to keep hope in AMD, so don't back down thumb.gif

Thank you to everyone who commented on my posting. I have been building my own computers since 1984 .i have own a apple ii+ an a amiga 500 and still have my amiga 2000 i built my 1st computer for some one other than myself in 1995. i used intel 486s and the old amd K7 processors in my builds, you name the video cards i used them. i fell in love with the old ATI all-in-wonder card. i converted all my old video tapes to cd/dvd . Yes I would choose a amd over intel if i see i get about the same amount of power out for less money.
i feel the FX 8350 HAS SOME ADVANTAGES, I hope Amd can perfect its APU and make that work, i hope AMD brings out a chip-set to get the same features that intel boards have
,AMD HAS FALLEN in the market and is struggling on its cpu side of the house, people who want me to conform to the standard, that has never been my style, i root for the under dog, give the little guy a chance at succeeding, i have a great air cooler and i am thinking of getting a self sealed liquid cooling CPU cooler.
i don't look down on others who don't pick what i choose, that's the nature of man, I love gaming and 3d modeling, i Had a stroke 2 years ago which took my ability to write and draw with my left hand,
and the computer gives me the ability to communicate, create and enjoy life in a slightly different way now
I have learned a lot from people who posted on this site. i am in the radeon 7970 club and the asus sabertooth 990fx club.Do i knock people who use other cards or Mbs NOOO.
THANK YOU AGAIN TO EVERYONE who has posted or will post on my posting

Quite frankly I'd take my 8320 over an i5 any day of the week. As a day to day CPU that isn't used for gaming 100% of the time and isn't running with crazy multi GPU systems it's more capable imo, does more than just games.

Sure the FX chips aren't as good as i7s but those are also more expensive than AMD chips. I love my 3930K for its performance but the price is pretty high so it should perform well.

Should sneak into their house and replace their i5s with 8320s and see if they notice.

I did that with my friend who was a nvidia fan, replaced his 670 with a 7950 for a week and he didnt notice a difference lol. (Thank goodness he doesn't have a window on his case)

switched from a phenom II x6 1100t to a 3770k recently........wish I had got a 8350 to be honest. I've had some wierd issues with the 3770k and for things like web browsing my 1100t was snappier I feel. So honestly you made the better choice by far and saved money so tell your friends to pick a side and kiss it lol.

I'll likely be building a new 8350 rig over the summer after graduating and taking my new job. My 3770k will be sold or moved into htpc/ server duties. So take it from a convert who wsih he hadn't ....YOU ARE SMARTER lol thumb.gif

Email this back to them:

Anyway, like others said, find new friends, those guys are just jerks. Several people in the 8300 club came from 3570k's and have said they don't regret the decision. In gaming, it holds it's own, and if you plan to rip DVDs or stream and stuff, you'll blow them away. It's a fine CPU with an upgrade path, be happy.

I think you should find new friends. A friend is someone who values and respects you, not someone who makes fun of you because they're some blind butthole fanboys.

I like my AMD rigs. If I had gone Intel instead and spent more I wouldn't be any happier. I know this for a fact because all we use at work are Intel systems. My point is this, if you made the decision to use AMD for your build and you're happy with it, then who cares what anyone else thinks? AMD is going to come back, they've done it before and they'll do it again. Hang in there Tom. I use my system to draw as well.
