Onboard audio or an old SB0770?

Thread Starter
Not sure what is better being as old as it is, my Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe onboard or my old SB0770 from 2007.

Any thoughts?

Obviously a card is generally better, but is it outdated enough that the mobo is better at this point?

Looks like an OEM X-fi Extreme music , I´d take that anyday over onboard, even an ALC898. call me old fashioned.

I had a Sound Blaster Live 24bit that sounded way better that ALC898.

The X-Fi is better. It's not even close.

It takes a really, really bad discrete sound card to be worse than ordinary onboard sound.
