Low Frames?

I was playing Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and turned on the FPS shower so that I knew what frames I was getting. I didn't change the settings that the game chose for my computer, but I was noticing that it was lagging, terribly at times, but most of the time, I was getting 60 frames. So I tried turning down the settings, do medium with no post-processing affects, and it just seemed the same or even furthered the lag. My rig (Intel Pentium G850 2.9GHz, Radeon 7870 2gb, 8gb of 1333 RAM) can run Battlefield 3 on medium high settings, no trouble what soever, but when I get into close courters with someone, my frames go from 60 to about 10, even with the decreased settings. Can anyone help?

You might give the latest beta drivers a try. Latest mobo drivers installed? My guess is your GPU is bottle-necked by your CPU, so you might try, if you can, OCing the CPU first. If you can't, and if you can, OC the GPU to see if that helps.
