Top left isn't great, the other three seem fine. The top left is hard to tell if it is true microstutter, you'd have to graph it down to the individual frame to get a feel for that.

Can you explain the different settings on etc graphs? The bot right graph is almost the perfect frame latency

This is OLD stuff just like downsampling and pixelclock overclocks and all that bullocks thats going around right now....

Now the idea is to find the sweet spot for it..

Thats how i fix my 64hz bug on skyrim to begin with....

And thats why i DONT notice microstuttering.. and thats WHY i dont have this problems this people are talking about...

Its the framerate cap in radeon pro that gets rid microstutter. We've known about this for a long time. People have been doing that since the 4870x2 days, maybe before.

When the framerate dips below the cap you see microstutter again. Its also disappointing that you're forced to use a framerate cap in a lot of games.

Is there any particular reason to not use a framerate cap, I mean if you don't use vsync (indirect 60 fps cap) you're going to get tearing anyway which looks far worse than any microstutter i've seen....

Unless you're using 120hz there is never a reason to not use a framerate cap. Vsync off will be choppy no matter what if you're not using a 120hz as mentioned.

OK, that's pretty wild. Declare me fascinated. thumb.gif Out of curiosity, I presume you disabled Vsync in the Skyrim config and set a 64FPS cap? I'm considering doing the same thing with Fallout 3/NV and setting my display to a 64Hz refresh as well.

On a 60hz monitor I don't think so. I would even use a cap with Nvidia cards.

With Fallout 3 and New Vegas you can set the cap to whatever you want but you have to change a setting in the ini to get rid of the stutter. You want to set "ifpsclamp" to whatever you set your framerate cap to.

I know that if the framerate is too high in those games that it can cause issues with the physics.

Frame caps and vsync don't fix the problem, they hide it.

Also, this article is largely about how FRAPS numbers may be inaccurate, as FRAPS is reporting figures that do not match up with hardware measurement.
