Is it a new hard drive that you've never used before?  Like, is it "fresh out of the box"?

Also, is it showing up in Disk Management?

It's a computer!

it is a used one, took it out of my old system when i build this new one. So it has stuff on it, and it DOESNt show in disk amanagement until I unplug the power and replug it in and the sata WHILE windows is up. It will not boot up with system. The bios is confusing because apparently there is NO way to see the drives since its not in "legacy" mode I think, also on a side NOT I would love to see a psot screen but even if you disable full screen logo, you get a stupid black screen with a logo on it. Dont know why they did this and I have searched too and thru to find a fix for that as wlel but I could deal with that.

The only thing that I can think of is maybe something is wrong with the hard drive.  I mean otherwise, I think this is over my head.

I'm not sure.  It seems to me that it shouldn't matter as long as the BIOS knows what you want it to boot from.
