If you buy a Titan it's basically assumed you'll do no less than 1440p...most likely 1600p or Surround/Eyefinity

I think you will find its more in the realm of 30-40% with 4x MSAA enabled but still agree value is poor.

For those who want to stick to single GPU setup then at least at 1080/1200P you can max out the most demanding game there is with 4x MSAA/60fps average. To what value that is worth to someone is going to vary

Keep holding onto those 690s with all their VRAM... oh, I forgot... a $1000 card with only 2GB per GPU. Not very future proof is it? rolleyes.gif

Maybe with better drivers the Titan will perform better on higher resolutions

Hey, my 580 is still hanging in there. smile.gif

Two 4GB 680's would give you plenty of VRAM and be pretty future proof. wink.gif

You seem to be upset that titan loses to the GTX 690, why?

2GB is plenty of vram titan has more but yet still loses in all the benchmarks I have seen even at higher res.

Its a gimmick by Nvidia. 2 GTX 680 4GB would have more vram than titan be more powerfull, and still cost less. lachen.gif

I wish forums had filters like for spam where you can block posts containing key words such as "overpriced" or what have you. Would whittle down the pages I would have to read immensely.

Anyways, my 560Ti needs to be replaced lol.

looks like nobody will "run" crysis 3 for a while.
i'll wait until this thing is <$10 in 2014 or so when i get GTX 860 SLI then i'll try it.
preordered c2 totally disappointing not giving crytek the full amount this time.

GURU3D IS NOT THE ONLY WEBSITE TESTING CRYSIS 3. they test with FXAA. FXAA runs better on Nvidia as they developed it. Crysis 3 uses SMAA (Enhanced sub-pixel morphological anti aliasing) which is supposed to provide best balance between perf and image quality . MSAA which provies the best image quality is a GPU killer on Crysis 3. In both modes HD 7950 boost beats GTX 660 Ti.

Very high SMAA 4x

http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Crysis-3-PC-235317/Tests/Crysis-3-Benchmark-Test-Grafikkarten-1056218/

in the gamegpu test HD 7950(800 Mhz) matches GTX 660 Ti in Very High SMAA 4x and Very high MSAA 4x. so its clear that HD 7950 boost is faster in both cases.

http://gamegpu.ru/action-/-fps-/-tps/crysis-3-test-gpu/graficheskaya-chast.html

but thats only telling little. the perf scaling of HD 7950 is well known. once you max power control and avoid clock throttling (which happens with stock HD 7950 boost at 0% power control) the HD 7950 is 3 - 5 % slower than HD 7970 at same clocks. HD 7950(1100 Mhz) matches HD 7970 ghz. there is no way a GTX 660 Ti OC can keep up with a HD 7950 OC.

Once you do this once you do that......just sounds like justifications to me. My point was not that the 660ti is way better. Its just proving that the 'Small bus will gimp performance" dribble is complete BS spouted by uninformed people.

I just find it funny is all. Also, here is a better known final performance benchmark for you also showing the 660TI matching the 7950. Im not arguing wich is better at overclocking, because overclocking performance is never guaranteed.

I last upgraded my PC when Crysis came out, I now have DX10 GPU so I guess it's again the time when I build a new PC. This article will help me choose new GPU.
