Sorry first, i dont know where to post this.

My mobo is ASUS M4A785-M

Will it support a SSD?

Thanks for help.

Yep.  Pretty much any board that has SATA ports will.  Your motherboard also has AHCI mode (Advanced Host Controller Interface) which is a good thing to use for solid state drives.

It's a computer!

Thanks for quick replay.

I know that SSDs are SATA3 6Gb/s

And I checked the spec of my mobo, on the storage tab.
http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/M4A785M/#specifications

Southbridge
1 xUltraDMA 133/100/66
6 xSATA 3 Gb/s ports Support RAID 0,1,10,JBOD

So my mobo only support up to 3Gb/s? does it effect any performance if I get a 6Gb/s SSD connect it into a 3Gb/s port?

The SSD will run at SATA 2 speeds instead of SATA 3 with your board.

Not all solid state drives are SATA 3.  Just the newest ones are.

Anyway, SATA 3 drives are backwards compatible with SATA 2 ports.  So, it will work well.

6 Gb/sec is the maximum allowed speed on SATA 3 ports, which is 768 MB/sec.  3 Gb/sec is 256 MB/sec.

Sata 3 SSD will work on Sata 2 however ita speed will be limited by 3Gb/s interface. It's better to buy Sata3 SSD as you will be able to use it at higher speeds if you upgrade your MB or whole PC.
