Thread Starter
My computer started freezing on start up(I built it over 2 years ago) which I quickly figured out was a broken cpu(It was an amd phenon II 6 core) and I ordered a new one off of newegg(AMD Phenom II X4 965) which I easily replaced and booted up my pc.

Everything works fine but I get no sound as windows 7 cannot detect any speakers or headphones that I put in it. in my device manager I have a audio driver called amd high definition audio device and after reading an interesting tomshardware thread on what it was(A driver from a video card and I have a AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series video card) I tried to install realtek high definition drivers and after installing them they get an exclamation point with a code 10 and still no sound.

At this point it sounds like the sound jacks are the problem but I have six of them(different colors but still).

I tried going to my bios setting and making sure onboard audio is enabled which is is and I'm kind of running out of options and would appreciate any advice.
