Far Cry 3 stuttering STILL NOT RESOLVED?

rig in my sig

so the latest Catalyst 13.2 beta 6 has GREATLY IMPROVED MY FRAME RATE in Far cry 3. According to MSI afterburner I am getting a solid 55-60 fps with around 75% usage on both cards (1920x1080 MAX SETTINGS with 0xMSAA). Problem is that there is terrible frame stuttering. Even when its at a solid 60 fps, the stutter is sooo bad. Since Far Cry 3 released I have been having terrible frame rate and stutter issues. It seems that with the latest beta drive the frame rate issue has been fixed BUT the stutter is still there.

Anyone else with 6000 series Crossfire experience the same issue...? Its been 3 months since the games release and I still havent been able to play it properly. Thanks

Nope, techreport's Far Cry 3 benchmarks in the Titan review are just embarrassing.

from the link you posted, "....When I asked AMD about the CrossFire problems, they told me they were investigating multiple angles. "

So I take it that AMD acknowledges that crossfire is still suffering from issues and they are working on it? I mean its been 3 months.... doh.gif

I feel like I'm the only nvidia person suffering from this. FPS always above 60, stuttering very very apparent. On 314.07.

I get zero stuttering with my 7970 with the 13.2b drivers.. The MSI 670 PE I did have stuttered like crazy.

It's terrible, I haven't played it since I 7950 CFed for christmas, using DX9 makes it a bit better, but still far from lag and stutter free. Microstutter is 1 thing, this is huge lag/studder

Hitman absolution doesn't work well with CF either, it gives me lots microstutter and some other lag, and my fps weren't fps any better most of the time than with a single 7950

So I haven't bothered with either since, only to check different drivers

On top of that the frametimes on a single card are really high. To me it looks like that stutter that [H] mentioned in their Far Cry 3 performance comparison still isn't resolved. I saw the same stutter. I'm shocked that it still isn't fixed.

I gave up on playing FC3 at launch and am disappointed that there still aren't any improvements on AMD's end.

you and me are on the exact same page, I bought FC 3 on launch night and have been patiently waiting for a driver fix. I have barely played the game due to the stutter. Only to check the latest driver performance. I think 3 months is enough time for AMD to have had this problem fully solved.....and yes I also experience poor crossfire performance on Hitman as well...

Did you search better? Even nvidia have serious problem with this game. Maybe ubisoft decide to patch this game some day.I have the same stuttering issue with my gtx480 too. I buy it on launch and still have to play it. I would never buy again game from ubisoft on launch day

Nvidia's not looking as bad in reviews. They have also seen some improvements since launch. I can't say the same about AMD.

They have also been patching the game pretty often. In fact they added a bunch of features in a patch this week if I'm not mistaken.

AMD hasn't even done anything about the stutter with 4x msaa that [H] mentioned when the game was launched. I would be willing to bet that they didn't fix tri and quadfire either.
