EVGA GTX 670 or Gigabyte 7950 windforce? - Page 3

I'll let GeForce explain it.
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/physx

Bottom line when a game has it, the effects can be very sweet. Borderlands 2 used it quite well. With a 670 and a 560 installed you can't run SLI, but you can set the 560 as a dedicated PhysX card and let it crunch those threads while the 670 handles the rest.

It is really simple. Put the 670 in your primary slot, the 560 in a secondary slot. Do not attach the sli bridge. Right click on the desktop and open the Nvidia control panel. Under 3d Settings (left side at top) select configure sli, etc. then select the 560 to be your physx card. Reboot and your ready to go. thumb.gif

Sounds good a buddy of mine was telling me about it when i asked him but thanks for the reply. With the addition of my Shimian monitor and my 670 coming in i have now made a console game player want to transfer over to the PC lol. So i think until we get the money together for him to build his on PC im gonna drop the 560 in another spare PC that i have and let him play BF3 with me haha

Hey Marcus, I wanted to let you know that I've had some issues with my particular GTX 670 on certain games. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the Triple Overvoltage Enhanced PWM Design that MSI seems so proud of. So you may want to take my woes into consideration when making your final decision.

Great choice you made on your video card. I hope you enjoy it! smile.gif

Why don't you get a GELID Solutions Icy Vision Rev. 2? It would be extremely quiet and cool better. It is $50.

It says it works for the GTX 680, and the EVGA GTX 670 FTW has a 680 PCB, so it should work right?

In order to use this heatsink you would have to remove the stock heatsink and cover, and install this one and replace the thermal paste.

Here are the warranty terms in case you want to still have your warranty available. So you MUST be sure you keep the serial number tag that is on the back of the video card, and to try not to rip it too badly when taking it off. You could just use a blow dryer to take it off easily.
