Hey everyone.

I currently own a 670 4GB GPU. I want to upgrade my system in the upcoming weeks.

I know that 670 4GB will give me more fps in games, but Titan has its uses as well

670 4GB SLI

+ More Fps

+ Budget friendly

Titan

+ Less Power Consumtpion

+ Less Noise

+ Less Heat

+ No possible SLI issues.

Now it seems that a Titan can be OCed well and might be as close to a 670 SLI setup or perhaps on par. So that is something to think about.

If you were currently in my shoes, which road would you go?

670 4GB SLI?

Titan?

or wait for thje 7xx series (which is not clear when they will arrive, also I dont believe 780 will be as powerful as the Titan)

Thanks in advance

If you're not in too much of a hurry, then wait. The 7xx series is supposed to be released within the next couple of months if I read correctly. When that happens, maybe you can upgrade to another 7xx card, or at least the prices of the 670 should drop.
If you're in a hurry, then AFAIK the 670 SLI should be better. The titan is overpriced in my opinion.
What resolution are you using?

I am using a 1440p resolution.

I just like the pros of the Titan that I listed above, but pros of the 670 4GB SLI is also very good.

Hard to decide.

Well, the GTX 670 4 GB SLI, will most likely be better than a Titan, there could be issues of SLI, but if SLI goes well, then you're looking at same performance, saving around 550$ give or take that can be put into something better.
The GTX titan is so shiny, yea biggrin.gif. The upgrading itch for it is great. If you had 670's @ 2 GB then yea the Titan would be a good idea. But you have 4 GB of VRAM, which should be more than enough @ 1440p currently and for a long time to come.
Two things you might consider :
1) If you get a Titan now and SLI another one later, you'd be looking at one hell of a super rig, but that costs 2000$. For same cost, you can upgrade CPU and mobo ( get a better mobo that supports tri SLI ) and tri SLI 670's 4 GB.
i7 3930k http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116492 @ 540$
EVGA GTX 670 4 GB FTW+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130824 @ 450$x2 = 900$
Asrock X79 Extreme11 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157327 @ 600$
All comes down to 2040$. You can probably go lower on the motherboard but my experience with LGA 2011 and X79 motherboards is limited, so I picked the best one I could find through a quick search.
Plus the fact that IDK how limited the Titan would be in 3.0 @ x8 ( if you SLI Titans, I mean )
2)Thinking about going multi monitor? IDK, maybe the 6 GB of VRAM will actually get into use with 3x1440p monitors. Not sure tho.
Hope I helped biggrin.gif.

Am kind of in the same boat as you iARDAs. But it's either i buy one gtx titan now or buy another gtx 670 4gb card. But am gonna be running a triple monitor 7680x1440 in a few months time. I think nvidia now will not release the 700 series as soon as we all thought since there at the top and amd said they wont be releasing 8000 series any time soon. Damn it's a hard choice to make but if i go with titan then i will get another one down the road for sli tho. But if i go with the 670 4gb sli then the next time i upgrade will be when maxwell comes out or after

Well I have two 680 4GBs and they push frames very nicely on 7680x1440 (BF3 On ultra with NO AA very playable, C3 On high and FXAA 40-45 fps).

I would say go splurge on the 670s... Titan is by no means a gaming card... it's a benchmarking card... for the price of two you can buy three 680s and put them under water for the same price and spank those TiTans silly.

Thats why I got a third 680 incoming biggrin.gif

Am thinking of going with the gtx 670 4gb more since that way i can buy my 3rd monitor and another gtx 670 4gb for sli for the price of one gtx titan. But one card is better tho from what i have read. Because 2 cards dont scale all the time to 100% that's where the gtx titan comes in

I'd go with the next 670. Its cheaper and generally beats the Titan in sli. Where the issue comes in is with SLI support for some games. I'd go with sli nonetheless. thumb.gif
post #9 of 35
Already have the 1 670, might as well just get one more.

Only reason I would have gone with a titan because it is only a little more then 2x 670/2x 7970 after you buy waterblocks

$1000 on a graphic card when you can get a 680 or 7970 which would own every game out there and cost you $600 less....
