I was tossing up between a Titan or 670 2G SLi as I'm going for a 30inch monitor. After reading heaps of articles, its very difficult to make use of the 4G VRAM unless your running insane resolution and Tri-SLI. I decided to buy another 670 2G, I've saved a fortune which I'll put away for a 7** SLI setup when they are released, or wait until Titan drops. 670 2G SLI will play 2560x1600 ultra with AA BF3 with 60FPS quite easily, I'm happy with that.

Don't waste your cash on a Titan just yet, they are waaay overpriced for the performance, unless money is no object.

My experience with 2 x GTX 670 FTWs SLi on 1440p has been positive. And since you already have one GTX 670 and a hugh accomodating case (800D). I'd say grab another 670 if you really need to upgrade now, otherwise wait a couple months.

EDIT: Just saw that you switched to Cosmos II.

The 670 is by far the best option. SLI scaling is very good, you are likely to see 90 percent or so in almost all games, and the VRAM issue is not an issue at your resolution.

I am adding two more 670 FTW 2GB cards to my rig for 1440p, and I have tested out the configuration numerous times to make sure that's the best use of my money. Even on a machine with "lower grade" components than mine (3770K @ 3.8Ghz vs my 3930K @ 4.8Ghz, 8GB DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24 vs my 16GB DDR3-2360 9-12-10-29, SLI running x8/x8/x8 vs my x16/x8/x16), the performance was absolutely amazing. There was absolutely nothing I could do that would make itstumble.

Also, consider that tthe performance of the 670s will increase significantly as you overclock, especially the memory, and you will be set for a good while.

670 4GB SLI

+ More Fps
+ Budget friendly

Titan

+ Less Power Consumtpion
+ Less Noise
+ Less Heat
+ No possible SLI issues.

Now it seems that a Titan can be OCed well and might be as close to a 670 SLI setup or perhaps on par. So that is something to think about.

If you were currently in my shoes, which road would you go?

670 4GB SLI?
Titan?
or wait for thje 7xx series (which is not clear when they will arrive, also I dont believe 780 will be as powerful as the Titan)

Thanks in advance

Just add another GTX 670 4GB for SLI. You'll be getting close to and even better than (in some cases) performance than a Titan for much less. About $600 less.

Thanks guys.

Im in a similar yet different boat ^^^glad you resolved yousr^^^, Ive got a 680 2gb and just picked up the most greedy, demanding little game called Arma III that rips thru just about everyones hardware. (still alpha, so poorly optimized at this point).

The problem is my Catleap 27" 2560x1440 resolution is getting owned and my 680's VRAM is stuck at the 2gb limit (it wants more, much more...)

So SLI'ing for another 680 2gb is out of the question as I need more Vram. Selling my 680 and trying to decide between the Titan or 2 670's 4gb SLI. Im looking at probably the exact same price but I think Im gathering here that the 670's would actually be the stronger play FPS wise? No one is really sure how high Arma will go after Vram but there are reports of it at 4gb and beyond....

Not when you play at 5760x1080. Was owning my single 680. And since most games this year I will be playing (TERA, FF14) don't support SLi. Titan is a better fit.

It depends on what he is planning on playing, what it will support, and what his current resolution is.

You guys also keep pricing the difference of a single 670. You know :shocker: he can sell his other 670 to offset some of the cost too.

I was in your EXACT boat. I had a single 680, opted to purchase another. Then ended up selling both and going a single Titan since I play at 5760x1080, and most games I plan on playing 95% of the time this year don't/won't support SLi.
