Overclocking newbie in distress

Hi guys today i built my new pc and i just wanted to overclock my Ram's but when i
press save and exit in bios the pc restarts and upon starting, bios pop's a window saying:

Boot failure detected
'' The system has experienced a boot failure possibly due to incorrect configuration.
Previous settings in BIOS may not be compatible with current hardware state . ''

Current CPU speed : 3800 Mhz
Current BClk : 100 Mhz
Current memory speed : 1333 Mhz

Pc specs:

MotherBoard: http://www.agem.sk/produkt/gigabyte-z77x-d3h-17981211.html
CPU: http://www.agem.sk/produkt/intel-core-i5-3570-34ghz-box-19003235.html
Memory: http://www.agem.sk/produkt/kingston-predator-series-xmp-8gb-2x4gb-ddr3-2400mhz-18826204.html

PSU: http://www.agem.sk/produkt/zdroj-fortron-hexa-500w-he-500-16110326.html

Problem

Everything is running fine i just want to use the full potential of my Ram which is 2400 please help me :C .
The thing that i tried is to update bios to a different versions like : bios F16 , Bios F17i , Bios F17f .
Please if you have any knowledge about how to fix this problem tell me i will be grateful :] .

I'm only trying to overclock my ram's to 2400 Mhz which both my motherboard and ram's support.
I don't need to Oc Cpu cause it runs fine on 3.8 Ghz . The only way that worked for me was that i Oced it
manually and set it to 2000 Mhz if i set it above The boot failure window appears. One more thing
upon save and exit bios, pc turns off - on and after off and again on.

For any further help i thank you !

If i placed this thread wrong i apologize I 'm new here :C .......

Your motherboard supports that frequency but your CPU does not. The IMC inside the CPU is what determines your max memory speed. DDR 2000 or 1000MHz is very good. What is the XMP profile on the ram? If it is DDR 2400 did you try loading the XMP profile?

You will likely need 1.65v or higher to hit 2400 if you can. Remember that when increasing the voltage you are putting your CPU at risk not the memory or motherboard.

Also increasing the ram speed does not make a large increase in performance. Also the higher the MHz the looser your timings will have to be. So if 1000MHz is the highest you can get stable then try tightening the timings a little to max out the rams performance.

Also OCing your CPU would make a much bigger difference than increasing the ram speed.

Are you using XMP profile or are you trying to overclock manually?

I believe he is going it on foot. I am not even sure if it will have an XMP for the max speed.

Well firstly i tried to use the XMP :

Profile 1: 2400 Mhz
Profile 2: 2200 Mhz
The ram's are DDR 3 2400 Mhz .

But all of these led me to the one and same ending that is The boot failure window mentioned above .

I also tried to do it manually and to be honest I was a bit successful from the 1333 Mhz I managed to achieve 2000 Mhz but I'm still not satisfied because i payed 55€ for the rams and i would like to achieve they're top which is 2400 Mhz .

Another thing is that my friend bought the same stuff with only one difference that makes the motherboard. He bought this one : http://www.agem.sk/produkt/gigabyte-z77-ds3h-17981247.html
The point here is that he can run the memory on 2400 Mhz without any problem by chosing the XMP profile 1 [ 2400 Mhz ] .

It has to do with the IMC inside your chip. Just like the chips themselves some OC better than others. I would also try loading the 2200 XMP increase all the primary timing by 1 and increase the CR to 3 and set your dram voltage to 1.65v and see if that works.

Well i tried what you said but it seems that only stable frequency for me is 2000 Mhz . I tried to increased all the tcl + trcd + trp + tras by 1, also the voltage to 1.65V and Cr to 3 but it didn't help it still gives me the The boot failure window . I looked on the timings of my rams and they are like : Cl 11-13-13 2400 Mhz 1,65V , 11-12-11 2133 Mhz 1.60V , 9-9-9 1333Mhz 1.5V . But those first two don't work . Only thing that works for me at least a bit is to set multiplyer to 20 which gives me at least 2000 Mhz . But I still don't under stand how it is possible that it works with out a problem for my friend who bought the same stuff with just a different Motherboard . He can run them 2400 Mhz on XMP 1 without a problem .

Yes, IMC would be a constraint, but then again...

Isn't here anyway to achieve that frequency cause i don't think that it would harm my system only boost it to it's max .
My friend has no problems running it just wonder why is it so ? The same pc 's the only differences makes the MB :C

The limit is the IMC on the chip . IB officially only supports 1600Mhz everything over that is considered as on overclock. The frequency of your ram is the speed it is rated too. Not all chips have a IMC that can overclock well.

Why don't you guys swop CPU's and do a test ?
