All of a sudden all the games that i play at 1280x720 don't fill the screen. i can't find any settings in nvidia control panel that help, and it also happens when i set my desktop res to 1280x720.

What you are describing is a resolution scaling issue. This can happen when you are choosing to display resolutions that are lower than your displays native resolution. The easiest option in situations like this is to only use your primary res and nothing less. However you can force full screen scaling.

In NVIDIA control panel go to DISPLAY: subcategory ADJUST DESKTOP SIZE AND POSITION. Under the scaling tab choose the full screen scaling mode and check the box under 'override the scaling mode set by other games and programs'.

This should upscale all low resolutions to your notebooks full display size. Good luck.
