[Sammobile] Samsung ditches AMOLED, Exynos on Galaxy SIV - Page 6

hell yeh good riddance of amoled, no more burn in suffering. not a fan of the snappy dragon and the 5" screen for a S device but its too small for a note. looks like i'll be giving the middle finger to the note3 as well considering it will be based off the S4

Mine is in pristine condition, my mother has shattered her screen twice, her camera lens 3 times, and literally snapped the phone in half like a twig (including the battery) once.

Hers has been in a case it's entire life. In fact she broke the first case (generic tmobile case) when she snapped the second phone in half - replaced it with an otterbox defender cause, well, it should be obvious. Mine on the other hand was caseless for the first month before my case arrived in the mail.

It's all about the user, not the device.

Quoted for truth. Barring serious design flaws, phones are basically fully durable for normal use.

Also the back breaking off of the S3 is just hilarious. It's comedy. It's gold.

When I was talking about low power usage I was talking about stuff like this:

Ah that makes more sense wink.gif

Why Google allows the most popular device to continue using it is beyond me. It just serves to fragment the market. They need to threaten to pull Google apps certification (read: no play store) unless Samsung removes it in future devices. Plus the back button is on the wrong side of the home button.

The back button isn't on the wrong side. There is no wrong side.

And physical buttons > on-screen.

If you have issues dropping your phone its your own fault...either that or your Parkinsons is acting up. The phones are not wiggling out of your hand by themselves. If you drop it and its not in a case, again it is your fault. Stop being irresponsible and blaming it on an inanimate object.

Put your phones in a decent case and stop dropping them.

Cool. Still in love with my Nexus 4 and do not forsee myself upgrading anytime soon.

For those who think AMOLED is the best thing ever, I compared my Nexus 4 to my brothers S3 and the Nexus 4 looked waaaay better.

people compare features that are near useless on certain devices. it's like someone grabbing a 3000 dollar rig to type up school papers. do you guys really want professional grade screens on devices that won't be used for such? what do you guys use your phones for? you load up photoshop and ditch your laptop/desktop to make professional images? im sick of these companies trying to indoctrinate users into things they dont even benefit from. man....there is so much good in these products then so much bad marketing crap. i really wonder what they are going to force down consumers
next?

phones are now the all-in-one apart of our lives devices now. when are they going to be designed around that? they arent professional grade tools and they shouldnt be treated as such.

im glad they are ditching the amoled screen. that thing drained the life out of everything except nasty lifeless black backgrounds. the colour saturation was a little extreme at times. the complaint about washed out colours on a lcd? has anyone seen the iphone 4s and prior?

i could never understand a lot of the comments about amoled... honestly.. yes on the old s2 it was bit over saturated, but they have added adjustments for people to make it under saturated, even the blue tint can be rid of if people were to adjust color profile... the contrast is just a bonus there..
regardless of all this..i doubt that article is real..why would samsung outsource some of the most vital parts to their phone when they have some of the largest manufacturing facility matching the quality? it just makes no sense..

Some S3's apparently don't have the setting in display I think you're talking about frown.gif
