If we had a stock market that wasn't plagued by shorters spreading FUD (AMD's a favorite in this regard), entities with high-trading algorithms that can trash a stock in literally seconds, and a European economy that's about to implode and will spread effects to other markets, yes, would be a great time.

Even so, AMD's is at 2.50 or thereabouts right now, and its stock hasn't dropped much below 1.75 even at its worst dips in the last 10 years, so you don't have too much to lose. High risk/high reward. Recommend with reservations if you can absorb some loss.

This is really good. While AMD can't really match Intels top-tier stuff, it's nice to see effective competition, and something that's actually better than Intel. Hopefully this + console money will give them enough power to compete with Intels best, and drive down prices.

That TDP is amazing though. This in an ultra-book-like thing, combined with a big battery would be amazing.

Uh, the shorters short because the company continues to bleed money. Tell me, when was the last time AMD made a GAAP profit?

GAAP/why shorters are shorting is completely unrelated to the point I was trying to make. My point is that I believe that there are those out there who are intentionally overstating their pessimism so that they can more easily short. I'm not attempting to draw any conclusions as to what their intentions are or why AMD is the company being shorted, merely stating that it is occuring.
