need a new wireless router

Thread Starter
well, I think it's finally time for a new wireless router. My D-link DI-514 isn't cutting it anymore. It still works, for my wife's lappy, but I can't seem to get my Wii connected and I found a list of approved routers for Nintendo Wi-fi and it says that my router isn't compatible for some reason or another.

so, I think it's time to get a new router. I don't really see the need for a pre-n router because no one knows if they'll even work when n becomes ratified. So, a g router should be fine. I need something that will work well, have encryption and accessories (I want a USB adapter as well) I also don't want to spend an arm and a leg.

Anyone have any good suggestions?

The Linksys WRT54G-series is nice, in my opinion. I use the Speedbooster version (model: WRT54GS v5.0) which is nice for computer-to-computer connection. Dunno how it would fare for you and your Wii though.

But given that the router table on the nintendowifi page lists a couple of the G-series family, it might be worth a look for you.

I have the Linksys srx 400 and it works great, i get the signal from 100 yards away and it goes from my basement all the way to my third floor with excellent signal. It does not have usb ports, but you could always buy an adapter. If i was to rate this router, i would give it a 9/10.

I love my linksys WRT54GL (basically a 54g v4.0) I can get reception in my driveway on the opposite end of my home.
