GTX 880 (Maxwell) = GTX TITAN?

Does anyone think that the GTX 880 (Maxwell) will offer the performance of the GTX TITAN at "mainstream" prices (which is I guess will be $500-600 for the GTX 880)?

According to: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/02/22/week-in-tech-the-end-of-graphics-and-other-stuff/ the replacement of the 680 ( I assume the 780) will not be faster than the Titan. So hard to say if the 880 would be faster. Have to wait and find out.

IMO, I don't think so. Going by previous graphs that Nvidia has shown. Maxwell is suppose to offer a big jump in performance compared to Kepler. The GTX Titan is definitely a beast of a card but judging by this graph is doesn't show the performance increase Nvidia says will happen. I'm hoping for more performance if this graph stands true.

No it is not, it is a new architecture and a die shrink.

I dont think the next card will be faster.. According to the old architecture roadmap maxwell should get around 14-15 gfops/watt. The Titan scores 18gflops/watt. I think we have to wait longer for that kind of performance for a lower price. When not refierence models comes out, we can hope Nvidia are dropping the price below $700

Pretty much impossible to say atm.

EDIT: did some compairing with previous gens:
GTX 580 is around 2x as fast as the 285 with 2 years in between the release of those 2 cards
GTX 680 is released 22 march 2012, if 880 is released 2014 than that's also 2 years in between so it could be twice as fast as 680, which would be faster than titan.

^ This ^ if there road map of performance is correct.

But I an sure the actual end product won't be exactly what they thought

I am thinking the Maxweel release will be about even give or take with the Titan.

Only thing is that GPU is over a year away, not to mention we have only seen pre release drivers.

The Titan could se another 5 or 10 percent bump once drivers mature

That being said we may not see Titan poerformance until a Maxwell refresh in 2015

Any guesses as to whether Maxwell will be a DirectX 11.1 GPU or will it be higher? Any possibility of DirectX 12?
