weird 9700 moblie problem

Thread Starter
Some times when I go to play a game Ill get these lines that come up on the screen, usally different colors. Its the same problem as netbeatz has in his post here http://www.overclock.net/ati/89994-b...highlight=9700. So I am thinking that its cooling problems or a bad gfx card; has this happend to anyone else or know of a way that I can cool it better?

I already have a small fan sitting next to it and a cooling pad under the laptop.

Sounds to me that your card is overheating or dying, since its artifacting.
Try and see if Atitool shows you any info on the temperature of the card. You can get atitool here: http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/

My 9700pro card didnt have a temp diode but maybe yours has.

Check your temps and see if they get above 70C. If so try opening your laptop and cleaning out any dust stuck in the heatsink of the videocard.

But first things first, check your temps.

just as juggernaut said you card is overheating and creating artifacts try lowering the clock speeds a little, you will lose FPS but maybe it will stop if from overhaeting
