Good 600 dollar laptop?

Thread Starter
I currently have an Acer TravelMate 290 and I'm just looking for a replacement to it since it is getting a little old and the power plug is dying out. It doesn't have to be dual-core since all I really do on it is Starcraft, Warcraft III and school work. Would this laptop satisfy my needs? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....prd64600050006 Could I actually get away with less, like a Celeron M and still notice better performance than my current laptop?

Specs of my old laptop:
1.3Ghz Pentium M(Banias)
1.256GB PC2700 RAM
40GB 5400rpm Fujitsu HD
2x DVD-R Drive

EDIT: Spending Less money is good since I'm actually running out of cash but I need a new laptop for school so I'm willing to take the expense.

Sound good? Dell Outlet (dell.com/outlet) is pretty much empty right now...I assume because of holidays. It usually has about 12 times the inventory it has now (which is about 8 laptops).

Ah finally got the link to work (copied/pasted...then I had to delete the space...)

The gateway looks best. Free printer. Cheapest. Buy it

EDIT: Stay away from Pentium 4...they usually eat up batteries like the cookie monster...

i just placed an order for a laptop that totalled just a bit less than $600 after tax & everything. it got a 64-bit processor, 15.4" widescreen, DVD RW, and suppositly the graphics can be upgraded to a discreet card. however, it only has 512MB of ram, 60GB HDD, and max resolution on the 15.4" is only 1280 x 800. here's the link for the laptop
