is this cooler enough?

Thread Starter
hello i have very little money atm (After spending a bomb on my sig rig) - thats a bomb when you have no income wink.gif , i brought my graphics card (xfx 5850) for £60, im very pleased with its performance and doesnt let me down however its cooling is terrible (link below), when playing games it peaks at 85*C and idles at 50*C

now for little money i understand this will fit:

will this perform any better (even by 5*C to bring it down a little) than what i have now, my card is this one :

It will perform better, but 85c is fine for the GPU, and if you're worried then make a custom fan profile in MSI Afterburner for it to keep it at a lower temperature (with obvious expense to sound)

85°C is fine.
You could also replace the thermal compound if you have some good in the house. It could lower the temps too.

Yes it will bring your temps down IF you put it on correctly, if not, you could be screwed.
PS: Good job on the card
