I've been running a fresh install of Windows 8 on my Samsung 830 and I have zero issues whatsoever. Everything runs extremely smooth. I would recommend doing a fresh install over an upgrade.

in gaming no difference currently. It is great though. I would take Win 8 over Win 7 any day, and I love it's features. Especially the Metro UI.

Yep. Upgrades suck. Fresh install rules actually. I agree.

Howevr Windows 8 is doing a great job un upgrading though.

So far it works better for me, especially on Skyrim. It's about the same as Win 7 right after startup, and for whatever reason, after a warm-up period of about 30 min it's noticeably smoother and faster than 7 was. Probably just particular to my setup, but Win 8 is the only substantial difference.

as i posted in another thread about this very same subject..i built a brand new ITX and was running Win7 Ultimate with a dual boot of Win8 Pro Media Edition.. because of the gaming factor... this was because most older games would not work cause of the backward compatibly of .NET .. but as of last month jan/feb... windows released a new update for the .NET and now i have yet to find a game that works in my Win7 that doesn't work for Win8... I TOTALLY recommend Win8 now for Games.. i completely uninstalled Win7 and went over to Win8.. Lovin it!

I switched to Win8 Pro 64bit after getting a new SSD. Couldn't go back! I'm a videogamer....I never had problems with videogames like Crysis , Sniper Elite v2, Dirt3! All is stable and perfect! The only problem I'm having is in 2D on Firefox. It seems that there is some bugs with this combination: Win8 + HD 7xxx series + Catalyst 13.x drivers. Instead Catalyst 12.10 are more stable (but a little slower).
