[USNews] Net providers begin warning of illegal downloads - Page 15

I agree with you. I'm not a law expert, but from what I understand ripping blus I buy for my media center is just as illegal as downloading it, which I find unnerving . Just because they are laws doesn't mean you have to agree with or like them, just follow them or be prepared to face the consequences.

Well sure. thumb.gif
Check out imoviesclub.com. Not all there titles are HD though, only the newer movies. Membership is as affordable as Netflix or Blockbuster.

I can't speak for the imoviesclub selection but the other music ones seems terrible.

I mean I can't find anything from Frank Sinatra/Elton John to Ozzy/In Flames, I mean those are fairly big names in a big genre/time gap.

Anyways, Hollywood just needs to actually make a move to modernize. A lot of people will pay if the price is fair and the service is good, that's what Steam did to me...I have 130+ games and for most of them I don't have over 2 hours in. The deals and the platform is what makes Steam awesome, I really really hope that Hollywood backs a service that would act like Steam and stop with these silly 6 strike plans/rules.

Common guy, don't beat me up for trying. I'm not in to the anime stuff, so I don't know right off hand where to get it. At the same time, you guys are not the typical run of the mill idiots either. You know you can find anything you really want....legally. Yea, maybe you need to search for it, but don't we all search for the best deal on every hardware piece we buy anyways? I know I do.

My point is simple. When the company producing the product has a decline in sales, they must cut cost. Believe me, the CEO does not cut there salary. The CEO cuts labor and the labor is the working person. That is what the economy is seeing right now. The laboring people have no jobs but the CEO is still pulling in bonuses for cutting labor cost. Who lost money? Not the company or CEO. They may have actually made money and made stocks rise by cutting cost and finding more ways to improve efficiency.

In my opinion pirates help the companies and hurt the workers.

You dont decide how much someone should make.

You are basically saying that if someone provides X service, and gets paid a certain amount for it, he should be limited based on whatever you think..

if actors get paid millions then thats the amount that they make and thats what they should get.

you guys wont look good on camera anyway let alone be able to act

While yes we're not idiots there are probably many titles including tv series that i cannot simply see / get here even in dvd rips, searching internetz can be a possibility but there's always option of it being a scam (don't get me wrong i'm rarely paranoid of anything), but still. Also it's more of a convenience thing - people are lazy and pirating is easier. If almost everything could be bought from single place online in decent quality (flac music , hd movie's etc...) i have no doubts people would use the service. One of reasons itunes itself is popular while there is not that much high quality stuff it has the huge offerings of music and ease of getting it and well affordable prices.

I agree with the points you have made. You may have a good business idea on hand here. Why is there not a place to buy good quality content at reasonable prices?

Hmm how much would this cost to get started? biggrin.gif

EDIT: but then again, this a small group that would pay for it. Most people are happy with Netflx, Blockbuster, Youtube, and pandora.
