Thermalright Macho HR-02 Mounting System

Thread Starter
I can't figure this out from the photos/videos I've looked at, so could someone please clarify for me: Does the mounting bracket of the 'Macho' HR-02 allow for ANY rotation of the heatsink after it's installed? For example, the Hyper 212+ can be rotated a few degrees after it's been installed, whereas Noctua's mounting system locks the heatsink straight so that there can be no rotation whatsoever.

Also, what is the HR-02 Macho in relation to the HR-02? Is it supposed to be an improved design that supersedes the HR-02?

It's a relaunch of the HR-02 and looking at this it doesn't seem moveable after it's mounted.

It's the Budget Version of the original HR-02.
And no, you cant rotate it after Mounting.

My understanding is the difference is the thickness of the heatsink base. The Macho is not as thick as the original HR-02. Cooling is the same.

I have been told Thermalright going to use the thick old style base on thier premium coolers.. Archon SB-E X2 already has the old thick style base. The reason for using it again is customers wanted it and has nothing to do with cooling.
