Computer fell down the stairs when moving. HDD wont read anymore. Recovering files??

My hard drive shows up as RAW insteaf of NTFS.
Its is plunged in via USB to my laptop. Need to access files.Help

The fact that your computer can still read it may work out in your favor. Download a program called R-studio http://www.r-studio.com/

install the program on a different computer, then connect the bad hard drive to that computer and run R-studio on it to see if it reads any data. If it does, you may be able to recover your files using either R-studio or testdisk. R-studio is a pay program, but has a trial so you can see if there is recoverable data.
