thinking of getting a 965be - Page 2

Why dont you spend the 80 dollars on something that will cool your chip better? I had my 8120 at 4.6ghz on a h60...

No.....

My Sempron X2 190 games well with my ATI 7950, so if that's cutting it for me, your 965 would be 30% better than my Semp, and that 8120 is 5-8% better than the 965 when overclocked.

Why waste money on a downgrade?

EDIT: When I meant that it games well, I was referring to GTA IV on Ultra Settings 1080p

No point in spending money on a "downgrade".

If you want lower heat output, improved performance (esp. in Starcraft II), and don't run anything in your PC that actually needs 8 cores, drop in an FX-4300. 6300 would be great as well with a small premium. With half the cores, you'll worry less about heat - and that means faster clocks for OC (though the Vishera FX are faster to begin with).

I had a NH-D14 on a 8150 and I can oc it to 4.8ghz max. The CPU was hitting around 59c.

And don't forget that the Vishera FX is about 15% less heat then the Zambezi FX.
