Want to go 120Hz+ but can't decide! - Page 5

You *may* be able to get 100hz out of a 30" 2560x1200 IPS panel if you drop in one of Overlords PCBs (which are made for 120hz@2560x1440p). It may not be compatible but who knows, i asked that question recently and Scribby said probably not, at least without looking at the PCB of a Leonidas or Sparta.

So someone buy one, open it up and send him some pics so he can get a guesstimate going smile.gif

I sweat I read a post by Scribby in which he stated that the overclockable pcbs would not work with the 2560x1600 screens...maybe he was just playing it safe?

I Compared the Samsung SA700 and the older 120hz Asus directly side by side and I can say they are so close to identical. The biggest differences in my opinion are the Samsung had a much smaller bezel and was physically thinner. The Asus had the nicer sturdier stand that telescoped. Overall I prefer the Samsung because you can easily get a new stand, and if I decide to go triple monitor the small bezels will be nice.
