i´d say the 1gb xfire with your current cpu would still deliver decent performance and the cpu doesnt really hold back the 7770´s
guess yo current performance is somewhere between a gtx480 and gtx580 but with vram bnecks if playing full hd with downsampling.

an 8350 is quite nice.. i´d get a single amd gpu or sli nvidia.
ive heard that with amd multigpu´s mixed with amd cpu there may occure problems, but tell me if im wrong.

tell me what you think

My motherboard doesn't support SLI because Sapphire only produces AMD cards. The problem is that I would love to get a 7950/7970, but I'm kinda hesitant because of my PSU. Two 7770s use less power than one 7950 so I'm worried that I would have to upgrade it then too. I'm running a bunch of cold cathodes, 5 harddrives, one 8120 and about 8 fans off of it already. :/

In terms of is an 8350 a good upgrade, YES it is an amazing cpu, i have replaced my 8120 for a 8350 and it is now driving to 7970 ghz models very happily!

dude, i got an asus sabertooth, but theres no 100% need to. any z77 130$ board will perform well and let him some more budget for a better gpu or other stuff.

no problem, if the psu worked well for the 7770s, just put it in yo bro´s system.
i think he´d understand this option.... nooot?!

I'd keep your cash it's a 1 generation upgrade so not anything massive, skip this one and upgrade on the following generation. If the cash is begging to get spent buy a better single card GPU, fancy monitors, high quality bourbon or a new rifle.

His build is months away, but I think I might just get a HIS 7970/50ICEQ, it's the cheapest one and would look faboulus in my case. I'll just have to hope my PSU will be able to power it, because I don't hve enough cash to buy that on top. Thank-you everyone.

I'm going with a 7970 or 7950. I'll get a rifle for free when I go to the army and I can only get bourbon when I'm 18. wink.gif

it could work, but i guess if you want to overclock your cpu and gpu it wont be enough.. it might be just enough to run everything stock, from
my experience but i am no PSU expert..

Besides the overclocking ability, you'll get a much higher performance in gaming. So I say go for it.

ah kk.. but its still around 190 bucks and there are good and valuable overclockers for around 100$ if his cash gets low for a gpu and / or an additional PSU if his one isnt enough...thats the problem
