Sure I can.
The 2L is an AMD reference design, can use reference waterblocks, has better VRM cooling, has VRM monitoring, does not have a radiator which does not cover one of the memory chips. Also, memory voltage is adjustable, unlike on the 3L.
Why would it be worse?

Now, what are your arguments for the -3L, other than that it is cheaper (and that you probably have one rolleyes.gif )?

my 3L goes 1200 core and 1700 mem easy. stays around 60 under looping Heaven 24/7

I recently got a 3L, so far at 1150/1300 at stock VDDC. Looks like afterburner(latest beta) is unable to control voltage, and trixx has no option for memory voltage control. Oh well. So far temps are good and looks like a good overclocker.

Currently using drivers 13.2 b7

I put mine in this morning and as far as I tried everything is friggin' amazing. The ASIC is reasonable with 68.8%, which is high compared to the ASIC scores I've seen for this model.

The first OC I tried was 1100/1300 (1.250v). All went well in Heaven 4 and BF3. The next setting I tried was 1200/1450 (1.300v) and managed to play without any artifacts. Also Heaven 4 worked fine. Temperature never went over 67c.

Tonight I'll take my time to install some other apps because I can't believe it would be so simple to hit 1200. Especially not with the 3L.
To be continued.

Here you are some results in CrossFire:

A picture for "color":

And one picture inside the case:

I have done many experiments till now (have the cards fot 2 weeks), there are two bioses on the cards: the original - 925/1250/1.25v and the sapphire's - 925/1250/1.169v . The max overclock i have reached in CrossFire is 1175/1650/1.25v , for 24/7 in games i use 1100/1500/1.2v . Crysis3, Max Payne 3, Tomb Raider, Sniper Elite 2 all settings at max = great gameplay at over 60 frames smile.gif These 7950 are really very fast ! The fans are little loud and the temperature of the higher card sometimes goes to 72-74 degrees.

Just thought I'd chime in with my experience with the 3L. Mine was purchased from Newegg on 4/19/13; asic quality 65.7%.

I mostly use the card for bitcoin mining, and I'm quite stable (mining for several days) at

1125 core, 1000 memory, 1137 vddc, +20 power

I get about 560 mhash/sec using poclbm, and my card stays at 70-73 degrees with the fans set to 44%.

I also play games sometimes and have had no problems. Unigine Valley loops nicely at 1100c/1500m/1200v and stays around 70-72 with fans at 50%.

I also get vdroop under load. Right now, GPU-Z reports a core voltage of around 1.06-1.07 while mining, despite being set at 1137mv.

The only issue I've had is that GPU-Z has crashed the system on me a couple of times when I open it, despite the fact that everything else has been stable.

So far, I'm very glad I got rid of my GTX 670 and replaced it with this.

I have a problem guys. Earlier when my card was running idle, the VDDC in GPU-Z would be 0.8v.
After some fiddling today (switched between normal and boost bios a few times) and trying out the new Trixx, my voltage is stuck @ 1.288v according to GPU-Z.

So after trying to uninstall everything etc etc, I decided to reinstall windows knowing sure that would solve the problem. But now it still reports 1.288v. The only way for me to lower the voltage if is I force it in the new Trixx, but that is all manually.
It doesn't throttle down anymore in Idle. It works fine under load. Also the temps are REALLY high for idle. Around 50. I must say that it's very hot in the house.

HWinfo64 does report 0.95v. Is there any way to lower the idle voltage somewhere?

Also, what's the best BIOS for this card? For some weird reason both the stock and boost bios run at exactly the same speeds.

Hey, I got a 3L boost.

This card is junk, imo:

* No VRM Sensor
* No memory voltage (even with mod trixx 4.3/4.4)
* Sensors only pick up voltage changes using Mod Trix 4.4 (not unofficial AB or 4.6 trixx, meaning no way to use force constant voltage)
* Elpida RAM
* Rattling heatsink (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oslmbntTUxo )

I have an asic score of 63% and need 1.3v for an extra 50mhz overclock over what I can do at stock voltage (1068mhz@1.169v, which is actually below the stock boost profile of 1.125v).

Unfortunately it seems like the TF3 has been downdated with elpidas, so it's 80mm fans with memory voltage and vrm sensor vs 90mm fans. So basically it seems the oversized asus dc2 and expensive his iceq2x are the only 2 good 7950s left.

I see the things in this way:

No VRM Sensor = not to worry about the VRMs
No memmory voltage control = not to play with it, so no danger to damage it
Elpida RAM - ok, what's wrong with it? Mine goes to 1650Mhz (6600 efective) stable in Heaven4 and Valley1
With Trixx i can manage the core votage = no problem about that
Rattling heatsink - really it is loud and the temperatures for me seems to be high (80 degrees in games with auto fans and overclock 1175/1650/1.275 volts; 77 degrees with custom fan profile)

The card comes with 2 years warranty - so why to worry about anything ? With too few managable options we can't damage the card => if something goes wrong just go for warranty replacement smile.gif
