FX-8350 Stock Heatsink and Temperatures

Thread Starter
I have an AMD FX-8350 with a Biostar TA990FXE using the stock cooler.

1. I am showing in both HWmonitor and coretemp idle temps of about 15c-20c and load temps of 40-45c. Both only show one thermal reading available. I'm curious as to why I can't get a reading on each core. I'm also guessing that this is the socket temperature being given to me? Any ideas on how to get more accurate readings? I just don't believe them. My motherboard actually has an LED that says the temperature but that never exceeds 45c either.

2. I have this in a Corsair C70 with 10 case fans. I don't plan to overclock but I game on this rig for 6-10 hours a day. Do you guys think I am still ok using the stock heatsink?

Thanks all!

Tim

I'm running an MSI970a-G46 and Evo 212+ w/ AS5 on my 8350 and my HW monitor shows all 8 cores(update maybe or could just be ur mobo sensors). Otherwise i'm seeing idle of 11c to 15c and load peak of 41c on stock CPU settings.
