Thread Starter
Hello fellow overclockers. I am in Grade 11 and am doing my research project. My topic question is AMD vs. NVidia. I have decided to do a poll. The question is AMD Vs. Nvidia. What im asking of people is that you vote in the poll and provide a short paragraph of why you have chosen said graphics card. Your vote will be confidential and only used for my research project. it would be muchly appreciated if you shared this post so i can have some valid results to show my teacher.

Thanks ,Brandon

Nvidia, mostly because CUDA and I do alot of editing that uses CUDA for acceleration.

I've been using NV since 2006. No problems, so I've stayed with them. A friend of mine usually goes with ATI and has a LOT of driver issues.

AMD's a dying beast and Nvidia is a uprising giant.
Pick your poison, I prefer AMD. Its all due to taste, plus the placebo effect works pretty well smile.gif

I prefer AMD, the performance is better for massively parallel hashing calculations (see my sig), plus it's nice to support the underdog, without them Intel/Nvidia could do whatever they wanted (even more than the stuff they do now).

AMD. They are beating out NVidia in all the segments I care about for value/$.

I've only bought from a select few suppliers for boards (HIS and MSI), and haven't had any problems. I went through two suppliers (XFX and EVGA) and had problems with both for NVidia. Maybe I didn't select my brand very well (I was young and only cared about stats listed on newegg).

Just curious, how are you doing a research project on this? What you've talked about so far is very vague.

amd, best bang for the buck! and they are still competing with intel/nvidia despite much less size

AMD. Generally they offer a much better value in terms of price:performance. Some people complain about drivers, but I've yet to experience a driver problem. I think prior to 2005 there were major driver issues, but today I believe the two companies are more or less on par.

AMD cards perform better at pricepoint while offering more VRAM and more memory bandwidth, making them an ideal short term and long term investment.
