Input on watercooling setup

Thread Starter
I am gathering and researching parts for my first watercooling built. My current specs are below:

Corsair 650D
i7 920@3.6Ghz
6GB RAM
GTX 670FTW 2GB@stock clocks
700W PSU
Crucial M4 SSD

So far here is what I have in mind:

Pump/Res: XSPC Dual 5.25" Bay Clear Reservoir - w/ D5 Variant Pump
CPU waterblock: XSPC Raystorm
GPU waterblock: Heatkiller Bi-Nickel
Radiators: XSPC EX240, EX120 in push configuration
Fans: Swiftech Helix 120MM
Fittings: Bitspower 3/8 x 5/8 compression
Fluid: Distilled water + biocide
Tubing: Primoflex PRO LRT

As far as layout, the EX240 will be mounted on top, and EX120 mounted in rear. Case cooling wise I have a 200MM in front as intake. The only thing i'm worried about is if a 240MM rad and a 120MM rad will be sufficient enough to cool my overclocked i7 and GTX 670FTW. I'm gonna leave the 670 at stock clocks and may try and get to 3.8GHz on my i7.

Please let me know of any suggestions, more than happy to take input.

looks good, thats plenty radiator for the the 920 and a 670.

look into putting a 200mm rad in the front instead of a 120mm in the back. that would give you the best cooling. so a 200mm rad and a 240mm rad thumb.gif

I was looking at a 200MM front radiator, still might consider it. Forgot to mention the res/pump combo has 3 options for pumps:

Alphacool VPP655 Variable Pump
Swiftech MCP655-B
Swiftech MCP655 Variable Speed

Between the 3 which one is better?

i have the Swiftech MCP655 vari. i love it, at speed steps below 3 its truly inaudible, i keep mine at 1.

I would go with the swiftech myself , they are reliable brand

other option you might wanna consider is to get the 200mm radiator (intake) for the front instead of the 120mm
and have the rear 120 fan as intake and 240 as out take
put some fan filter for the rear

so you will have the 240 rad at the top being fed with cool air from the back

from my experience having rear and top rad as out take, the rad wont perform optimally since the top rad will be fed with warm air from the front rad

besides you would have a very good positive air pressure by having more in take fans than out take (as long as all the intake is filtered)

down side would be the noise from 200mm fans, i hate them frown.gif
