I’ve seen a lot of people here on OCN that use THESE, which is actually what I’m planning on doing in my rig when I rebuild it in a new case. I’m also going to put a dimmer/on/off switch in it, which will be THIS because you can take it apart and put it in anywhere. What I’m planning on doing is actually putting it in a smaller, black project box, or just drilling a small whole and mounting the dimmer straight through the case. Haven’t decided yet because I don’t know exactly what case I’m getting.

Anyway, since the lights are 12v, you can run them directly off the PSU. I’m going to take a spare 4 pin molex connector off an old fan, cut it off and splice the wire straight into the dimmer, then run the lights off the dimmer. The nice thing with these lights is you can cut them to length, so you can use as much or as little as you need, then with the dimmer you can control the brightness. Also, Amazon has a lot of accessories for them, so you can just search for “Hitlights” on there and see everything. They’re really cheap and from what I’ve heard from a bunch of people on here, they work really well.

What about the nzxt hue. It looks like it will do a nice dark red, or I can do just plain white. Also, it looks like it will make for a clean install.

Yeah. I was looking at a bunch of difference pics and the red looks like it can get to a blood red. It looks like the red on other products can get a little orangy, or even pinkish. I also like the fact that you get 2 meters of it. I should be able to get around most of my case with that amount. I saw a guy on youtube who had a hue in his, and it looked amazing. He had the same case as me and I would like to know how he mounted it. I messaged him to see where he started his run of lights and where he ended it.

I know that. lol. I was wondering where he started the run of lights and how he routed it to get such a nice even lighting effect. The vid is below. So did he start at the top right and go counter clockwise, or start at the top right and go clockwise. I am assuming his starts at the top right because that is where the controller plugs in.

Edit: I just ordered the Hue. I will give it a try.

Can you post a link to the Hue, I've not actually heard of it before and I want to check it out? Thanks, sir!

For lighting, u wanna hide the light source but show the light it emits. So stick it around the window on the side panel. This way, u see the light emitted and not the diodes(light source) itself.

Thank you, sir! That actually looks really awesome. I'll have to look at one of those when I move my build into a bigger case and have a free 5.25 bay.

Spot on. Or, you can also hide it around the lips of the case (where the side panel attaches) if you don't want to have to worry about unplugging / plugging it in every time you remove the side panel.
