Sapphire 7950 Vapor- X to replace 5830?

Hello, I am currently in the decision making process of buying a Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X from newegg to replace a 5830. My question is should I wait for the 8xxx series? I have had this 5830 since 2010 and it has done well for it's age, however, I do feel the need to upgrade and would like to see other peoples opinions to help me rattle it through my brain before I purchase this.

Well it's the best time to buy when it is on sale. Right now if you can manage to sell the games then it is only about $250 or so. I don't know that the NVIDIA game codes will sell as easily and the HD7950/7970 is a monster overclocker compared to the entire Kepler series.

Sea Islands ( real HD8000 series) won't be out for a while (q4 2013?), the HD8000 series OEM rebrand of the HD7000 series is already out though.

You're looking at a $270ish HD8870 , $200 HD8850...

Thank you for your feedback and it actually helped immensely because I have decided to buy the 7950 Vapor X. I will have my fun overclocking the hell out of it.
