That's exactly what i'm hoping for! Pc gamers are always held back by console's tech. We have all this power, but nobody wants to build games for us from the ground up! I understand it's just easier to port a game from developers point of view, so maybe now we will get some greatly optimized games? I say "bring it PS4"...we will be ready biggrin.gif

Thats exactly what I'm thinking too, I'd like to know what a software developper thins about it, they mentionned it's X86 platform. What it means about the portability of the software. IMO it can only means good things about the future of multicore CPU - gaming software's scaling performance.

I'm agreeing with the above comments. This is only going to advance multi-core gaming and benefit PC gaming as a result. This is a nice machine.

Ill just emulate gran turismo 7 when that is released, 6 is for PS3 sooooo

I mean PS4 is x86, PC speaks the same language, Just need to wait 4-6 months for a emulator, One just needs to crack the security of the thing and thatis it, PS4 games on your PC.

even though sony consoles have been known to support open gl,almost all games on the ps4 will surely utilize the libgcm api.and no sir ,it will offer features far beyond what's on pc right now, why?because api's like direct x currently limit the pc's hardware due to significant dispatch overheads(which are a result of these api's functioning like a abstraction layer, not necessarily bad but it does limit hardware utilization, directx api has greatly stimulated game development for the pc platform)so at least for the first couple of years, the multiplatform games will have similar graphics, resolution notwithstanding.pc graphics are ahead of the current consoles but not with enough margin to qualify as next gen or be similar to the first few next gen games graphically.especially the exclusives, they have and always will remain ahead of the multiplatform games visually.just look at uc3.the only game that comes close or possibly beats it is crysis 3 on pc,although it will be beaten by the last of us,that is just staggering.

Take a ps4 cpu and put it into a pc build. I've heard that crippled chips will be sold off.
that 8gb GDDR5 ram , how much of it will be for games and how much for CPU/OS ?!!

i don't think a console game @ 1080p needs more than 2gb to look fantastic
