Consoles will always 'drag' the PC down. Consoles are where the big money is. We'll always be playing console ports on PC.

It's a real shame that each system has a symbiotic relationship in that way. I plan on getting a PS4 for the exclusives, Killzone etc and I have a high end PC, I wish more developers would develop exclusives for PC aswell and play to the PC's strengths also.. Things may get more interesting when Valve enter the console territory...

I really hoped the PS4 would have enough power for 1080P. PC will pull much further ahead of the PS4/720 than it did with current consoles. There looking dated before even launching. I know devs will make use of what they have and it's a step up from 360/ps3 but really would expect 1080P all these years after the original consoles..

i think it's a rumor , BF4 will play 1080p@ 60fps

I think the only reason that BF4 might be in 720 would be for the purpose of online play. It'll be easier on the servers.

Resolution has no effect on the servers nor does most of the other graphics options. What maters is that the game engines runs at the correct speed and syncs up with the server.

What is an issue for multiplayers is CPU power. The poly count and texture quality can be dropped down to a level where they aren't hindering performance but having a bunch of players running around all who's movement and shots need to be updated in real time well that is not as easily solved.

If BF4 runs @ 720p then its due to devs again prioritizing rendering complexity over rendering resolution aka trying to cram in more eye candy then the console can handle at 1080p.

I think it will be phenomenal compared to current games. But I just get the weird feeling like as games get more complex.... they are also sort of going mainstream... lacking originality. But there are definitely exceptions.thumb.gif

I hope Bf4 on ps4 won't be up rezzed. That would be a step back. Current consoles can do that. Though, I'm getting it for PC

So is it going to be backward compatible with PS3 games?

If so, I'll wait for the second version where they've sorted out any teething problems (i.e. ylod).

Considering the architecture change, not very likely.
