Hello everybody. ill try be quick and simple about this. I am not an MMO freak, i've been playing alot and all sorts of FPS games lately. my friend recommend me to get guild wars 2 but since I am a college student and throwing 50-60 bucks on a game that i might not play later on is something i am trying to avoid. ^^

So give me your opinion. is Guild wars 2 worth getting as of today? 2/27/2013

Yes, why not. I believe its going on sale soon too (can't remember where i read that?)

The way questing is presented is a bit different to other MMO's. - Deffo a decent break from FPS's.

The Game staled out for me around lvl 55, but after 70 it got interesting again.

LOOOL. You better read the whole wall of text. I logged in just to post this. i always lurk without logging in.

GW2. Ahh, the mighty O' MMO that's being the center of attention ever since it's announcement. The 3 Days of Getting ahead was hectic. The few World events that happen in Lvl 1-20 Zones was hell on earth for crappy pc's. I myself had a GTX 680, so I had no problem dealing with it. Along with a 150/65 DL/UL speed. On to the game itself.

Graphics:
Amazing Graphics. I pumped up everything and the game looks revolutionary. It's like Crysis status with Fantasy elements. I love it. Feels like home. I lived in a nature oriented part of China when I was small. I loved the graphics in GW2. It's refreshing.

Sound:
Every little thing you do. Walk, Run, Swim, Hack n' Slash. Everything has it's own mini sound files. It's amazing so many details were worked into. I love the Audio and Visual aspect of the game.

Gameplay:
Very! Very smooth gameplay. You will hit a wall here and there when you reach a certain part or level. For each class it's different. But after you jump the hurdle, it's again more refreshing and more fun again. WvW is a great place to put team cooperation into PvP. Arena Based Team PVP is fun if you know what you're doing. Most of the time people don't. until you get yourself up in brackets yourself. End Game Dungeons are great. Try to get to Fractal if you can.

There is more to endgame than just PvP and Dungeons. Crafting a Legendary Weapon for example will take you a looooong time. Not that long if you know what you're doing. But it's fun while doing it. Or if you have a Guild/Friends and are on TS/Vent/Skype. Do some jump quest, go exploring, go for some Group WvW. it'll be fun. Trust me ;P

Balance:
There has been lots of glitches here and there. There was a bug where people net easy gold. But that was fixed within a day. i don't suggest every using Gold Glitches. I get bored of the game knowing that I can just get free gold. No challenge. So even if i know how to do it. I wouldn't attempt. It's a waste of time and it'll get you bored of the game very quick.

END:
I have been playing nonstop since day 1. First few months I play on avg 50hours a week. Now, just 3-4 Hours a day. It's fun. Trust me. Or your money back guaranteed tongue.gif

The game is enjoyable for the first month.
Population is dying off though, nobody I know still plays the game. (had rougly 50 people in guild, and lots of others I knew from GW1)
I left it a month after release.
PvE is decent, PvP is piss-poor compared to how epic GW1 PvP was.

Played GW1 for 7 years, and over 15000 hours.
It hurts me to see what happened to GW2 after playing and loving GW1 for such a long time.

A lot of new people seem to enjoy the game though, it's just not for the GW1 fans.

If you get into a good server you will love it, depending on if you want PvE/PvP/WvW. Just google which server suits the style/s your after

Fort Aspenwood is the home of the OCN guild, but its absolutely dead for PvE.

(Sorry OCN redface.gif I migrated back to Tarnished Coast and there's people EVERYWHERE in PvE, Still representing the colours though thumb.gif)

I know some friends got angry since arenanet introduced gear grinds and walled content in the end game.
