I5 3570K 4.7 - 4.8 OC goal - Page 3

Im using a h100 so yeah im water cooling...my bad forgot to mention the temps. But yeah I have heard that the ivy bridge does not do well with bus overclocking. My experience so far is that it works great however i never really ever go past 103.(and some) unless i wanna run 5.0. I would imagine as long as you can keep it out of the scorching temp range I do not see why it would be terrible for the most part.

Here are some screen shots....note that the power settings are auto so you do not need to feel with any offsets..just select the correct cpu load line % that puts for core voltage to something reasonable for your overclock thumb.gif

Let me know if you have more questions.

I think the overvolting thing only applies to the asrock extreme4 and asrock extreme6 motherboards AFAIK, not heard about it on any others yet.

^ It's not an issue with asrock extreme4 boards. It's just an issue with low quality boards in general. I'm pretty sure that the far-off voltage reading does not apply to the extreme6, as the extreme6 is actually a very high quality board, unlike it's cheaper siblings. But I do think that asrock actually fudges their numbers a bit so you think you are using a lower vcore for the same clock compared to other boards, but every motherboard manufacturer does that, and things like that, so dumb people at places like TH think when they bench boards or say 'oh look we got the same overclock on less voltage' that that means anything.

I really never hear anything on BCLK overclocking but i dont see why not. I think sin0822's guide said that bclk overclocking degrades your ssd, gpu, but he didn't really go into it and just 103, 102 bclk for an easier 5ghz...
