Well if people like most professions they can schedule classes to help them with that goal. The videos main point is that coding education is not available in schools before college.
I agree and it's why I felt this would be good to post. Schools ( before college ) provide many classes for people to learn many skills. But as it is now the computer courses are merely typing classes basically with some super basic activities. Why not provide a way for students interested to elect into a computer programming course?
It could be argued that history and science are fairly useless courses unless you're interested in those fields, but they're still mandatory courses ( at least in the U.S. ). But even basic programming can be beneficial and does help to think in a way which people don't normally think.
