[Maximum PC] OCZ Desperately Needs Cash, May Sell Power Supply Business. - Page 5

The Vertex2 utterly destroyed OCZ's reputation.
And the other vertexes aren't much better.
I honestly think they would be better off starting over with a new name, or just stop the company.. Their name is tainted.

Starting from Vertex 4, they've been doing great imo.

They were mostly affected by SandForce bug but not only, remember all the BSoD crapiness from all various manufacturers and noticeably Corsair (Force 3/GT etc.).
All of those have been fixed with firmware update.

The Vertex4 seems to be alright, but people never forget bad experiences.
Once you've had a bad experience with a certain brand, you're not likely to go back.
I remember when ASRock had some really bad boards in the beginning, and there are still people hating on ASRock for that even though their boards have been excellent for years.

All of those have been fixed with firmware update.

Intel was the only vendor to use the SF2281 and not be hit by the bsod bug. Most likely because they did validation testing on the drive for many months before release.

And the actual fix for the bsod bug was "found" in October, a good 6 months after users started to experience it. The biggest difference is that none of the other vendors such as Corsair were telling users it was their fault.

As for the Vertex 4, it does appear to be worlds better than older OCZ stuff.
