Talk about let the enemy know you're on you way rolleyes.gif

that's why I walk around in a M107 biggrin.gif

there IS a very steep learning curve for ARMA games. people are so used to just spraying bullets (CoD/BF/etc) and have it automagically splatter brains even tho you weren't even aiming at the same zip code biggrin.gif ARMA is meant to be a mil sim. not a shooter. so when they hand you a M16, they expect you to use that 400m effective range biggrin.gif if you were using a DMR, you are expected to use that 600m effective range smile.gif and yes most shooters are more of an arena and aren't even 400 meters wide biggrin.gif

BUT, once you get some co-op under your belt and get over the learning curve, you will feel it's the only game that is "acceptable" because everything else is just so lacking biggrin.gif it's the ONLY game i'm aware of that force you to learn how to shoot a mil dot scope biggrin.gif

and yes. the game is accurate enough to actually force you to use mil dot calculations biggrin.gif people need to remember BIStudio's "other business" is making mil sim programs that various countries use to train actual soldiers. look up VBS2(virtual battlespace 2) and their client list if you want to see what kind of software ARMA is actually based on biggrin.gif

Indeed, them smilies. I like ArmA 3, but where are the updates and when can we get better performance. They have WRONG priorities. First fix performance, bugs etc. Then move on to making the game "look cool" or adding any "glitter". ARMA 2 was already pretty nice, but it had the same problem; performance, PERFORMANCE, P-E-R-F-O-R-M-A-N-C-E. 20 fps with 15% usage is NOT ideal.

Let's hope its a matter of time, most likely they just can't.

Exactly. My primary concern is that we hear "the primary architecture of which all of the Arma series is based upon is unlikely to yield any major improvements in gameplay framerate for mid-level computer users without a complete and total overhaul that would set us back years in the release".

Same engine as Arma 2, and they had 4 years to fix Arma 2s performance, they didnt do squat, not even with OA.

Yes they might be able to help improve GPU usage, on our machines, thus a minor bump in performance.
But thats Bohemia, thats what they do, they dont thoroughly optimize their engines, hence why Arma 2 is among the top buggiest games in the world (inbeforeyoudontplayit, I have 200+ hours of OA)
And they still have major performance issues with towns.
