even some games that are highly optimized for multi core / multi GPU support only results in about 60 to 70% utilization across the board. multi threaded / multi GPU optimization is an expensive and time consuming process. it's understandable that they would spend those resources elsewhere if it doesn't prevent the game from being enjoyable.
people tend to forget that until DAYZ made the game popular, most of these complaints were not much of an issue... people who play/enjoy ARMA games knows these flaws because they've been playing this game since operation flashpoint... BIS is primarily a military contractor, NOT "technically" a game developer. they sell a cut down version of their military training software (virtual battlespace) to supplement their income but their primary customer has traditionally been branches of military around the world... people don't seem to realize this is in fact something that governments around the world actually use to train real soldiers. having multi GPU support isn't going to help that soldier who is trying to learn how to spot and disarm IED's to save his and his squad mates lives. in fact, if you look at VBS2... the graphics looks like shiet
much worse then ARMA2 did
because this is a teaching tool. not really a game. those who enjoy playing with simulators learned to like the game and adopted to its flaws already. they realize if BIS spent all their time trying to optimize multi GPU support and working on getting better frame rate, they'd end up with an inferior simulator.
those who play ARMA knows if they wanted all the headache inducing screen shaking, gallons of blood splattering, automagical healing abilities, there are other genre of games that are specifically designed to offer that. heck to this date i'm unable to finish bioshock infinite because the headache it induced was so bad, I kept having the headache for 2 days AFTER i quit playing it
until BIS finally sells out to EA or Sony where they can ruin the game, I'm not keeping hopes up on "better frame rates" because I'm happy BIS prioritize their time and resources in providing top notch mil sim rather then trying to compete with other FPS games. i mean, just look at what happened to Operation Flashpoint: dragon rising
do you really want ARMA to follow that route?
